When Morgan and Cooper told me that they wanted to have their engagement session in Boulder Colorado where they live so that their dog Rowdy could be included I admit, I teared up. As a fellow rescue dog parent I know how important the relationship is and seeing that they wanted to represent the life they’ve built together the past five years prior to their marriage celebrations brought the idea of an ‘engagement session’ to a whole new level. And a destination engagement at that!!
Our destination engagement was a wonderful little adventure. It started with Morgan and Cooper’s Saturday morning ritual of breakfast at the farmers market, and later in the day let to a bit of mountain exploring and a stroll and dip (Rowdy dipped, not us) at Rowdy’s favorite lake. With a well built appetite we ended the day with dinner at the Kitchen Next Door and dessert at a (genius) spot where they bake cookies to order, my day ended with a full belly and a satisfied creative pallet. I can only hope that their day ended with the knowledge that they’ve found a friend in me and a friend who cannot wait to document their love celebrations in New York next summer.
Thank you Morgan and Cooper for inviting me into your lives. Thank you Rowdy for being so damn cute!! Congratulations to the both of you and I will see you at our home turf in the Hudson Valley in June!!
